HOTSTAR Payment issue - Amount deducted without informing you?

Hi there, Hope you are doing good. Recently, I got a notification from my credit card department "ALERT: RS 299 spent via CREDIT CARD XXXX at HOSTSTARxxx". However I am not using any paid service provided by HOTSTAR.So, it is really confusing why amount got deducted.

I know if you have any existing subscriptions, you might cancel via navigation my account->Membership section and finally cancel the membership.

However the above scenario for me is different. I tried searching over the internet for solution to get back my money. But I did not find any useful result there. So, below I am writing the steps what I did there after and got my money back from HOTSTAR.

Step-1: I wrote the problem to hotstar contact email id hello@hotstar.com stating the issue as mentioned in below screen.



Step-2: Notified the same problem in there Facebook page. I got reply beak from then as shown below.


Step-3: I got response from Hotstar within 12 hours as shown below and they initiated the fund refund also, notified to me via credit card alert.



So, I would suggest you not to panic as I see lot of misleading blog suggestions over the internet. You just follow the above steps and this will definitely help you. Still if you have any questions, please reply me in below comment.
